18th Mar 2024

Sixfields stand and land deal

·         Councillor Jonathan Nunn, leader of West Northamptonshire Council, has responded to repeated requests for an update on the Sixfields stand and land deal. His email response was received on 22 February, on the eve of the 2023 Annual General Meeting, and was circulated to members the following week.

The Trust’s consistent position has been that any deal should enable the certain completion of the East Stand and that the former community land should be retained for community benefit.

Disabled Cobblers fans travel to Wycombe

·         A kind gesture from former Cobblers manager and Trust board member Ian Atkins enabled fans from the Community Trust’s disability programme to travel with Cobblers Travel/Earls Barton Cobblers to the fixture against Wycombe Wanderers. Cash was raised from the sale of late 1990s playing and training kit.

‘Wet weather’ gazebo for DJ Maty of Sixfields Sounds

·         The Supporters Trust has purchased a gazebo for Sixfields Sounds DJ Mat Amos, who plays music outside Carr’s Bar on matchdays. On wet weather days, Mat has to operate from his car and so we have agreed to provide Mat with some cover so he can operate more effectively and crank up those tunes which have been such a big hit with fans in the build up to kick off.

Sixfields infrastructure survey goes out to Trust members

·         A Sixfields infrastructure survey – requesting suggestions as to what improvement to facilities at Sixfields are necessary, desirable and realistic – has gone out to Trust members. The survey consists of 20 questions around aspects of Sixfields stadium with multiple choice answers and the option to leave a short comment around all things infrastructure. The survey will go out to the wider fan base, in the same format, towards the end of April.
