Members of the Community Trust’s disability squad joined Cobblers Travel and the Earls Barton Cobblers on the coach to Wycombe yesterday.
Tickets and travel were paid for by Trust director Ian Atkins from the sale of his playing kit and training gear during his time as manager of the Cobblers in the late 1990s.
Ian said: “When I was at Northampton I was always impressed with the community work that was done to benefit those who were less able than others.
“Russell Lewis was an inspiration then and he and his team continue to do a fantastic job at Sixfields.
“I am pleased that everyone enjoyed a good day out even if the result went against us.
"Overall though Jon Brady has done a brilliant job at Northampton this season and deserves much credit for the team's achievement.”
