Following last night's council meeting, in which a motion was passed to back Northampton Town Supporters' Trust, we would now like to call on the council for their full backing.
What we firmly believe now is that the club needs to be given as much time as possible to work towards a positive outcome. In the Trust’s view Northampton Borough Council now needs to put a formal objection in against the winding-up petition from HMRC.
This will allow all parties to work towards a better outcome, and allow time for the Trust to come up with an alternative package if needs be. We believe that if we were given this time there is a real fighting chance to preserve football league football in Northampton.
Please continue to offer your help, and we hope as many fans as possible can attend the Park Inn tomorrow evening at 7:30pm to meet our board and other members who have been helping us out in the last few weeks.
