The board of Northampton Town Supporters' Trust has reduced life membership fees from £150 to £50.
This decision was confirmed at a Trust board meeting held at The Guildhall on Thursday (August 20) - where the members voted unanimously to reduce the price.
James Averill, press officer for the Trust, said: "We felt that a £150 fee to join the Trust was holding back a number of people from joining us.
"Hopefully this move will prove more affordable for fans and encourage them to think about joining us."
While life membership has reduced to £50, annual membership remains at £5 for adults, who also have the option to join for five years for just £20.
The fees of £4 for over 65s and students will also stay in place.
The Trust's next move is to ensure that it is even easier for fans to join up by introducing an online paying mechanism.
Mr Averill added: "We're aware that the fact people cannot sign up online is preventing a number of people for signing up.
"Now that we have our new website in place, our next priority is to ensure that fans can sign up on our website, and work has already began on this. We hope to update supporters soon."
In the meantime, fans can still register their interest in signing up online by filling in the membership form. A member of the Trust team will then be in touch with how to organise payment.
